Words of Wisdom
In preparation for my trip to Paris this week I rummaged through my old journals from when I lived abroad there years ago looking for must-see, must-do, must-dine, must-shop suggestions I gave myself at the ripe age of nineteen, and I just happened to stumble upon some of my favorite quotes on art as well. Here they are!

Gorgeous Awards
This week I caught up on my Hollywood crushes in their newest roles yet. Last night I went to see Crazy Stupid Love. I know, I know, a little late to hop on the bandwagon, but I can't get over how amazing Ryan Gosling was...he is by far, hands down, my celebrity crush. Everything he does screams cool and his wardrobe...can it get any better? Last week I saw my Hollywood girl crush, Marion Cottilard, starring in Woody Allen's Midnight In Paris. She is the epitome of chic. Have you seen her in this season's Dior ad campaign...can we say classic elegance at its finest?! And how can I forget about my longstanding all-time favorite, Diane Kruger? Unknown may have not topped my list of all-time favorite movies, but she will always top my list of best dressed, most enviable celebrities. And if you object, just ask Karl Lagerfeld :)

Creative Crossovers
This month we are seeing a number of creative crossovers - Bob Dylan exhibiting at the Gagosian Gallery, Kelly Wearstler unveiling her salon of ready-to-wear at Bergdorf Goodman and of course the first Missoni line of affordable home goods at Target. So what happens when musicians become artists, interior designers become fashion designers and high-end runways become cheap showrooms? Here's what...

My consensus, stick to what made you famous.

The Most Coveted Jobs in the World
Yesterday, I got an invitation in the mail for a Credit Suisse Alumni event. (Obviously I'm going to go, if only for the shock value.) Five years ago I was all about finance, and now I am all about art. It is so funny for me to catch up with people who I haven't kept in touch with or tell people I recently became friends with about my past life. Both groups seemed shocked. How does one transition from Investment Banking to the Art World? Well, it's easy. What most people don't realize is that these two seemingly different Worlds are actually very similar. I will tell you from first hand experience, it is just as hard to get a job at a prestigious art gallery, if not harder, than it is to get a job at a bulge bracket bank - you are simply trading a lucrative career for a glamorous one. Aside from access, once you actually get into the worlds of high finance and high art, the similarities are endless - both Worlds consist of people who think they're better than everyone else and both serve basically the same clientele. In short, Larry Gagosian is Goldman Sachs.
