Magical Movie Sets

I love watching movies and getting inspired by the set design. Some of the most noteworthy interiors in the world of cinema for me have come from Sex & The City 2, Something's Gotta Give, Coco & Igor, I Am Love and It's Complicated.

Sex & The City 2 (Carrie and Big's home - designed by Marks & Frantz) - I absolutely LOVE the wallcovering in the foyer and bedroom and the eclectic mix of patterns on patterns.

Something's Gotta Give (Erica's Hamptons beach home - designed by James Radin) - The abundance of natural light from all of the windows and french doors is amazing and check out that book styling.

Coco & Igor (Coco Chanel's countryside home - set design) - The black lacquer millwork is to die for.

I Am Love (Villa Necchi Campiglio - designed by Piero Portaluppi) The art, antiques and sculptures are museum worthy and the detail in the walnut wood paneled staircase is stunning.

It's Complicated (Jane's home - set design)- The display shelving in the kitchen is perfection.

Black, White, Gold & Perfect

My current obsession - all things black, white and gold. This trifecta is understated but elegant and works perfectly at home too. And no one does it better than Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent and Muriel Brandolini!

Le Haute Hotel

L'Hotel Particulier in Arles provides some major design inspiration. Light and breezy meets rustic meets regal. The interior, the exterior, the garden - loving it all. I mean, who doesn't want to live in a chateau?

Marni and Bottega Veneta just may have gotten the inspiration for these amazing fall looks straight from the farmers market.

Women Who Inspire

The women of the moment who inspire me are the ones who have that certain "je ne sais quoi" - the ones who are always bold, whether it is through their style (Rachel Feinstein), business acumen (Goga Ashkenazi), drive (Gwen Stefani), humor (Zooey Deschanel), elegance (Carla Bruni-Sarkozy) or intelligence (Yulia Tymoshenko), they are trailblazing their way through Art, Business, Music, Hollywood and Politics and looking stunning every step of the way.

Fresh from Frieze

LONDON CALLING! The Frieze Art Fair ended in London yesterday. And like all art fairs, it was filled with the good, the bad, the leaders and the followers. Since good art is supposed to push aesthetic boundaries, who knows, maybe performance hermit crabs will be the next $12 Million Stuffed Shark.

Beautiful Homes

Three friends. Three new apartments. Three distinct decorating styles. While I haven't gotten a sneak peak of their inspiration boards yet, here's my best take on what they are planning to do based on their personal styles and personalities. Stay tuned to see if I am right and what really inspires their home decor...

Paris Fashion Week

How do I describe Paris Fashion Week? Besides coming face to face with three of my biggest style icons (Rachel Zoe, Olivia Palermo and Margherita Missoni) in addition to a number of other celebrities, I fell in love, again, with Paris as a whole. The architecture, the art, the fashion, the cuisine, the people, they all come together to form something I like to think of as perfection. There is no city in the World as chic as Paris. If you disagree, you are wrong. Here are the must-stay, must-dine, must-shop places in the city of love. In terms of the fashion spotted, Viktor & Rolf is coming out with some killer shoes for the Spring, pleated knee length skirts are trending and neon colors are making a comeback, like it or not...

Where to Stay?

Le Meurice - spotted Julianne Moore & Emily Blunt

Hotel Costes - spotted Alexa Chung (Anna Wintour is rumored to stay here too)

Hotel Le Bristol - setting for Midnight in Paris

Where to Dine?

Le Relais de L'Encontre - no menu, no reservations, serve only steak frites

La Societe - yes that is Rachel Zoe waiting in line (Tommy Hilfiger and Rodger were her dates)

Le Grand Colbert - setting for Something's Gotta Give

Where to Shop?

Colette

Maje

Comptoir des Cotonniers
