Lina Maple at SARCA: Lovely in Lace

Marcel Wanders is an innovator in the world of interior design. He has been dubbed the Lady Gaga of the design world because he is a forward thinker who pushes conventional boundaries. He is an industry revolutionary who is most well-known for his knotted chairs. His line of crochet tabletops and chairs are true works of art that provide a great contrast to sleek industrial furniture. It certainly looks like he got the inspiration for this line from the fashion crowd.

Lina Maple at SARCA: Wear It Like Warhol

Andy Warhol is known as one of the most famous artists of the 20th century. Not only was he the pioneer of the Pop Art movement but his love for commerciality in art has paved the way for contemporary artists like Damien Hirst to embrace the concept of being prolific. His work has served as inspiration in a number of industries, all the way from advertising to fashion. We see his influence here at SARCA in one of our favorite Bensoni dresses.

Lina Maple at SARCA: California Cool

No one loves tie-dye quite like one of our all-time favorite interior designers, Kelly Wearstler. She is the embodiment of California cool. We are pretty sure if she walked into SARCA right about now she would leave rocking some of our newest looks from Gypsy 05. To learn how this interior design maven finds inspiration, visit her blog MY LIFE, MY VIBE - it is to die for. And to dress like her, well just come on in!

Gifting Gorgeous

If there is anything I learned working under an amazing interior designer, it is the power of pretty packaging. Wrapping presents for birthdays and holidays was taken very seriously at MCI, from the choice of the card, to the calligraphy in the personal note, to the design of the paper, no one was messing around. Some of our favorite spots in NYC for gifting were the MoMA Design Store and the Brookyln General Store. I ventured over to Blick on my lunch break today to look for some vintage frames that I can use for the salon style montage I am creating in my bedroom using the new additions to my burgeoning art collection thanks to my brother's trip to Argentina and holiday gifts from some of my favorite emerging artists. It will include paintings, drawings, photography, vintage posters and my new obsession...framed antique maps :) Anyways, I discovered that Blick is a great spot for gifting gorgeous in Chicago.
